The Enhanced Edition added: - fully voiced dialogue. - some balancing changes to the skill system, dual wielding, wands and grenades. - a rewritten ending, small epilogue area and some additions and changes to quests and dialogue throughout the game. - graphical improvements and engine optimizations.
2) In general: if you encounter enemies above your level, you're in the wrong area and need to go back and finish some quests or explore in a different area. Pretty much everything in the game should be equal to your level when you encounter it. Level of enemies is a great clue that you're in the right (or wrong) area.Play the enhanced edition. They made numerous changes to the game between each edition, balance and bug fixes, and some of the original players like playing the classic edition. There's some quality of life improvements in the enhanced, too. If you do a search you should be able to find a comprehensive list of changes.
