Shield Bash isn't really supposed to be used as a kind of "Damage" attack. Though, if there was a type of shield that specialized in that, like a small "Spiked Shield" that might be interesting. Otherwise, it's just a "filler" Perk for One-Hand players who love to Shield Bash. You might as well get some kind of Perk for it.
After a while become a mercenary and start defeating other small parties to get reknown and loot. Releasing the lords has more benefits then the gold you would get selling them. When you are ready besiege a city of a faction that is at war. When captured try to join another faction for protection.
